Latest News: Uma Leaves Cannes for a family funeral:
The famous Hollywood actress and Kill Bill top star Uma Thurman have been included in board of jury in 64th Annual Festival de Cannes which will be held from May 11 to 12. Jude Law, a British film icon and actor of famous Sherlock Holmes has also been introduced with her in the venue of Palais des Festivals at Cannes, France. They both won this top prize, Palm d'Or. This prestigious Palme d’Or winners are to be selected by total nine members of them. The rest of them are  French helmer Olivier Assayas, Argentine producer-turned-actress Martina Gusman, Chinese producer Nansun Shi, Norwegian critic Linn Ullmann, Chad helmer Mahamat-Saleh Haroun, Chinese filmmaker Johnny To and the total body will be headed by Robert De Niro.

This year there will be no representative from India. Last two years Sharmila Tagore and Shekhar Kapoor were in the official jury board.

Recently Uma Thurnan and John Travolta and Blake Lively have decided to work together in the film 'Savages' by Oliver Stone. The story is based on Don Winslow's best selling novel. Actor John Travolta and actresses Uma Thurman and Blake Lively are reportedly in negotiations to join the cast of Oliver Stone's 'Savages', the drama based on Don Winslow's bestselling novel Savages.

Uma Karuna Thurman (born April 29, 1970) is an American actress, producer and writer. Uma Karuna Thurman, daughter of Robert Thurman and Nena Thurman, was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on April 29, 1970. Uma grew up in Amherst, Massachusetts. She was very much determined to become an actress and at 15 after leaving boarding school she moved to New York to follow her dream. She has starred leading roles in a variety of films, ranging from romantic comedies and dramas to science fiction and action movies. Among her best-known films are Quentin Tarantino films Pulp Fiction (for which she received an Oscar nomination) and Kill Bill. In 2002 she won a Golden Globe Award for her performance in Hysterical Blindness.
