Alecia Beth Moore ( Pink ) was born the 8th of September, 1979 in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, in the family of a Vietnam veteran and a nurse. Even as a child she was very rebellious and was in a continuous quest of identity. Hence, she underwent a lot of phases: she was into skateboarding, was a rave child and even a hip hop fan. So it's safe to say that she's always searched for new ways of expressing herself. And ultimately she discovered the power of music. A child prodigy (well, more or less), she was already singing in night clubs at the ripe age of fourteen. A couple of years later, she became part of an R&B band, called Choice, which eventually disbanded. So, Pink became a solo singer and her stage name sprung from one of the characters' name in Tarantino's 1992 'Reservoir Dogs'. In the beginning she was a back singer for artists like Diana Ross, 98 Degrees and some other musicians that are not even half as famous as she is today.
